I having the same problem “WebCamDV could not be found”. I had Hauppauge wintv-hvr 1950 and Sony dcr-dvd105.

Jeff that orngeware pdf is a nogo. I get the same message as jam. Any updates (from 3 years ago) on this fix “Webcamdv could not be found”?

Hi Jeff.
I’ve installed WebcamDV but when I launch the program I get a message: “WebcamDV could not be found. Try rebooting your machine or reinstalling WebcamDV.”
I got a Panasonic DV Cam, Win2k S.O. and the sw version is the latest 2.1.0.0.

Jerry, I’m confused. Are you asking how to connect a webcam to a DV cam? As far as I know, it cannot be done (and I’m not sure why you’d want to that anyway). As for the newer cams with USB 2.0 connectors, check the Orange Micro website to see if their WebcamDV software will work with them (http://www.webcamdv.com/).

How do you connect a Sony DCRDVD300 to a web cam? This camera uses a mini (b) usb 2.0 connector.

if you just leave the tape out, you can close the tape door and not worry about dust.

its seems like crap to me that i have to buy extra software to make my dv cam work as a webcam on windows. i don’t have to on my mac! any updates as to working around buying webcamDV?
