Pink Floyd, Country-Style

When my friend Steve first played a bit of Luther Wright and the Wrongs’ country/bluegrass cover of Pink Floyd’s The Wall, I thought it was a spoof in the same vein as Weird Al Yankovic. But their Rebuild the Wall CD is a genuine treat.

I’m not a big fan of country music, personally. But the story of The Wall is well-suited to the twangy, countrified style of Luther Wright. It’s somewhat condensed, fitting on a single CD, and I actually followed the storyline much more easily than ever before. As Sheriff Luther says: Good songs is good songs. Yee-haw!
