Last Sunday my neighbor Floyd Landis (actually, he lives a few miles from me) won the Tour de France. A few days later, controversy ensued as ICE announced that one of his six tests during the race showed a higher than normal testosterone level. I don’t know Landis personally, and I truly hope he is innocent and exonerated. But I had to love Stephen Colbert’s take on the controversy on Comedy Central’s Colbert Report.

Very funny.
Call me paranoid but between Armstrong and now Landis, I am begining to feel like American cyclist are being targeted unfairly. Humor, for now, is a nice outlet.
I hope its not true, and if its not, hope the accused can laugh and shake it all off, too.

Yeah, I hope it’s not a trend. Landis has been pretty vocal about his innocence. If the B sample comes back positive for artificially enhanced testosterone, it will hurt not only Landis, but the sport.

Saw the end result of the enquiry, big shame about his title being taken from him. But I expected they would after the second test. I don’t think it will harm the sport though, as it happens at the olympics quite a bit. Let’s hope he can put it behind him and win without help next time.
