John Edwards uses Twitter?

Business, Good things, Web 2.0 Add comments

Wow, who woulda thunk it? Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards uses Twitter — or at least — it appears that he does. If it’s really him, it’s sure to boost his tech cred.

You really should check out Twitter. And be sure to add me.

You know, I think it really is him in this case. He seems pretty down-to-earth, from his blog and podcasting. Plus since he’s not in the Senate right not he’s probably not as busy as Hillary (http://twitter.com/hillary2008) who is clearly not updating that one herself. Or Obama (http://twitter.com/barackobama), who hasn’t even updated.

Thanks Cori. I think you’re right. Nowadays it seems that politicians are eager to jump on the social media bandwagon for fear of being left behind.

What they don’t understand is that if they don’t really GET the technology, it’s not going to work in their favor.

Absolutely! Which is why Edwards’s usage is refreshing to me - he really seems to get both podcasting and twitter. His team’s a little less with it on some fronts, but he seems to get it….

Ok, so I followed your advice and went for the first time to the Twitter home page. I read it, and felt nothing much more than, “who cares?”

Max, you probably will only care if people you know are using it. It can be interesting, and potentially useful, if your friends or colleagues are using it.
